Collaborating Partners

At Curémonos, we strongly believe in collaborating with other community organizations and foundations in providing services and programs to medically underserved women. By collaborating with other community organizations, we achieve our vision of replicating our programs and expanding our vision to other regions outside of our service area.

YMCA in Summit, New Jersey:

The Summit YMCA in Summit NJ and Curémonos partnered in November 2011 and are working to provide a common goal of supporting breast cancer survivors both in wellness and social experiences. The participants of Curemonos are currently using meeting space within the YMCA to further develop relationships amongst themselves as well as become comfortable with what the YMCA has to offer. In 2012, the YMCA will be working with the women to provide a 12-week strength, training program designed specifically for Cancer survivors and patients. The YMCA is happy to be able to branch out into the Latino Community and provide such a service to women who might not have had access to the YMCA before. For further information, please visit:

Nueva Vida, the Support Network for Latinas with Cancer in the Mid-Atlantic Region, partners with Curémonos to ensure that newly diagnosed Latinas in Northern New Jersey have access to culturally sensitive emotional support. Nueva Vida offered training to Curemonos in 2011 through Nueva Vida “Compañeras de Apoyo” Training© Program (peer counselor training program) to raise its capacity to instill a sense of hope through personal experience for newly diagnosed Latinas with cancer, thus contributing to the expansion of the Network of Support for Latinas in the area. Nueva Vida was founded in 1996 by a group of breast cancer survivors and Latino health professionals. Nueva Vida’s mission is to inform, support and empower Latinas whose lives are affected by cancer. Nueva Vida advocates and facilitates the timely access to state of the art cancer care, including screening, diagnosis, and treatment care for all Latinas. For further information, please visit:
